EAST MARLBOROUGH>>Michael Audevard, who began his career in education at Chadds Ford Elementary will be returning home as he has been named the new Hillendale Elementary School principal, pending school board approval.
For the past two years he has been the assistant principal at Concord Elementary School in the Garnet Valley School District. But he began his career at Chadds Ford Elementary School.
The search for the Hillendale Elementary School principal position began with a pool of over 60 applicants that included both strong internal and external candidates.
Adminstrators then narrowed the field through an intensive and thorough interview process. Each candidate met with faculty, staff, parents, administrators, and board members in a series of four interviews.
“The comprehensive process helped us identify who would be the best fit as our next Happy Hillendale principal,” said John Sanville, Unionville-Chadds Ford superintendent. “In the end, Mike was the clear choice. “
Unionville school officials are working with Garnet Valley to determine Audevbard’s exact start date this summer.
He succeeds Steve Dissinger, former Hillendale Elementary School principal. Dissinger has been named recently as the new principal at C.F. Patton Middle School.
Dissinger will be working with Audevard to make the transition as smooth as possible.
This move is the latest in a series of internal promotions which began the departure of former Assistant to the Superintendent Kenneth Batchelor, who was named Superintendent in Radnor, Delaware County. Former Director of Curriculum John Nolen was named as Unionville’s new assistant superintendent. Tim Hoffman, Patton’s principal since 2012, was promoted to director of curriculum.
